The Teen Club is proud to say that this was the BEST 4-H camp ever. Congratulations to the mighty tribe of Meherrin for winning the spirit stick! Great job Mr.Orange, Big Chief Chris M.!! Now that school has started again, our meetings are back to normal.. our next meeting is: *September 17, 2001 Updates about future events will be posted after the meeting! So check back often.
What else we did this summer: But aside from camp, we were very busy with Strawberry Festival and I am proud to say that we won the "Berry Best 4-H Exhibit Award" and recieved a blue ribbon for our display. Some of our members are also planning to attend other 4-H functions this summer. 4-H State Congress was great and we had 8 delegates go and participate in various community service projects and fun classes. While at Congress, our president, Becky Talbot, was inducted as a 4-H All-Star (that's the highest honor awarded to a 4-H member.) Then Angie Zahariadis, our treasurer was reinstalled as a 4-H ambassador. Scroll down to see pictures. Most of our 4-Hers were at Counselor Training Weekend, participating in workshops, two of our members, Becky and Amy were at a leadership conference in Washington D.C. While at Citizenship Washington Focus, Becky and Amy learned how our government works, a little about the history of D.C. and its monuments, and they even met the President and Miss Universe! It was a great trip and both are planning to attend next year.
